After many years of playing with cameras I decided that in 2008 I would purchase the Nikon D80 to take on our honeymoon to Canada. This is when my love of photography really hit me and I have haven't looked back since. With a passion for the outdoors and other hobbies being of the 2 wheeled variety I have been fortunate to travel with my camera to various locations. Our holidays are now geared around the golden hours and destinations carefully considered based upon images I can add to the portfolio.
I started to collect images on my hard drive with no outlet so decided to join Bury St Edmunds Photographic Society. Being competitive I really enjoyed the competitions and started to win, which fuelled the desire to develop and be able to compete with the advanced members. As well as meeting some interesting characters, I have been lucky enough to make some great friends who have supported my progression.
I appreciate all genres of photography, but do enjoy landscape, creative, macro and motorsport in particular. The creative photography really allows the brain to run wild and allows the mix of another dimension with image manipulation software. I am entering the British Photographic Exhibitions to achieve the crown awards.
