The entire event was wonderfully organised by a professional and friendly team, all of which contributed to a very special and enjoyable selection weekend.
The warmth and welcoming received by the enthusiasm and efficiency of Barbie and Rusty and the entire team was astonishing and remarkable.
Throughout the weekend the devoted team led by Barbie and Rusty were just magnificent the whole judging ran like clockwork, software and skill of the operators ensured that every image and score was accurately projected and recorded.
All the sections of the PDI Colour Mono and nature were particularly agreeably supported with some 5,474 wonderful images, making the selection of the awards particularly challenging, all of which I’m sure will make an incalculable and impressive exhibition.
Through the whole weekend the catering was excellent, and we all benefitted from the regular refreshment breaks to renew our concentration
I was privileged to have been invited to take part in such a well organized and high quality and prestigious Exhibition and I’m sure the resulting Exhibition will leave no one in any doubt of the most excellent standard in the Beyond Photographic Exhibition.

Firstly I would like to thank Barbie, Rusty and the Beyond members for making Phil and I feel so welcome and looking after us all for the whole 3 days.
The whole weekend went without a hitch and looked effortless due to this well oiled team.
We were treated to breakfast cooked by Kevin, pancakes by Chris and everything thing else you could possibly want laid on.
Special thanks to Chairman Brian, Paul, Marcia, Jane, Wayne, Peter, Ian, Scott, Justin and Andrew who kept us topped up and hydrated. You could not possibly have done more to keep us cool and keep us from melting that scorchio weekend.
It was a privilege to be asked to select this, one of the most prestigious UK Salons knowing the standard of the 5474 images would be extremely high.
We were treated to PDI Landscape, Open Colour & Mono and Nature sections and the standard of entry did not disappoint.
We thank everyone who entered and congratulate all those who had Accepted images especially those winning awards, it was a difficult task but hope you enjoy our selection as much as we enjoyed seeing your images.
Congratulations to the Beyond Group for another excellent Exhibition and a big thank you to my fellow judges Mike and Paul for being great company.

It was great to have the opportunity to be a selector at the 15th Beyond Group Exhibition. I thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience.
A big thank you goes out to my fellow selectors and to the Beyond Group Exhibition Team for making the weekend such a huge success.
All the classes had many high quality images entered, which made the selecting difficult, but really enjoyable.
At the Beyond Group we pride ourselves on the way we look after the selectors, this was no exception. It was fantastic to be on the receiving end of that with great catering and hospitality.
Congratulations to everyone that received awards and acceptances. Hopefully we'll see more of your fantastic images in next year's exhibition.

Here we are again. Where did last year go? As usual the weather is very hot and sunny which seems to be something we have every year during the selection weekend.
I must first of all thank the three Selectors, Andrea Hargreaves and Mike Sharples who travelled a long distance to select the images for the Exhibition. Also, to Paul Smith who is a member of the Beyond Group for his help as not only a Selector but also for making the weekend run smoothly. Thank you all for giving up your time to judge our 15th Exhibition.
It was a very long selection process. There was a total of 5474 images from 520 entrants – just under our record number. We would not be able to hold the exhibition without your support so I would like to send a very big thank you to all who entered.
My sincere congratulations go to everyone who gained awards and had images accepted as the standard this year has been extremely high.
Also, may I add a special thank you to all the Beyond Group Members for all the hard work that they have done in connection with the selection weekend and the forthcoming Exhibition.

FIAP/PSA/RPS Common Nature Definition (2015): Nature photography is restricted to the use of the photographic process to depict all branches of natural history, except anthropology and archaeology, in such a fashion that a well-informed person will be able to identify the subject material and certify its honest presentation. The story telling value of a photograph must be weighed more than the pictorial quality while maintaining high technical quality. Human elements shall not be present, except where those human elements are integral parts of the nature story such as nature subjects, like barn owls or storks, adapted to an environment modified by humans, or where those human elements are in situations depicting natural forces, like hurricanes or tidal waves. Scientific bands, scientific tags or radio collars on wild animals are permissible. Photographs of human created hybrid plants, cultivated plants, feral animals, domestic animals, or mounted specimens are ineligible, as is any form of manipulation that alters the truth of the photographic statement.
No techniques that add, relocate, replace, or remove pictorial elements except by cropping are permitted. Techniques that enhance the presentation of the photograph without changing the nature story or the pictorial content, or without altering the content of the original scene, are permitted including HDR, focus stacking and dodging/burning. Techniques that remove elements added by the camera, such as dust spots, digital noise, and film scratches, are allowed. Stitched images are not permitted. All allowed adjustments must appear natural.
Monochrome Definition: A black and white image is one with tones from very dark grey (Black) to very clear grey (white). A black and white image toned entirely in a single colour will be able to stand in the black and white category and can be reproduced in black & white in the catalogue. On the other hand a black and white image modified by partial toning or by the addition of one colour to a part of the image becomes a colour image and should be entered in the colour category. This type of image will be reproduced in the colour pages of the catalogue.
Colour images can be converted to greyscale monochrome. Infrared images, either direct-captures or derivations, are allowed.
Scapes: This is a broad interpretation of landscape; any image depicting our physical environment - land, sea, urban, rural, city are all acceptable.
People and animals may be included in the scene as long as they are ancillary to and or supportive of the main subject.
Entries to this class can be from a 'single image': this means the image should be from a single exposure, or from multiple exposures taken at the same time and merged to work round camera limitations. Specifically, HDR, focus stacking, and stitched panorama techniques are allowed, and entries to this class can be ‘creative images’.
