Chris Netton DPAGB AWPF

My background has often included an element of craftsmanship and creativity.

I've appreciated photography from an early age and while I always got great pleasure from taking photos, it had always been with a camera on auto setting.

Around 2010 a number of things happened which would eventually inspire me to take the photographic path I am now on.  A close friend had just bought a DSLR camera and was producing some outstanding images.  I was then given a book, which celebrated 25 years of the publisher Benedikt Taschen.  For me, it was a glimpse of what I could create and how I could create it.

I borrowed a DSLR camera to take on holiday and couldn’t get enough.  Returning home, I signed up to an evening course in vocational photography at the local college which I completed with a distinction and was encouraged enough to buy a DSLR camera of my own.

Needing an outlet for my photography, I joined Bury St Edmunds Photographic Society, had great success at competition photography and have made some great friends along the way.

I am interested in all aspects of photography but have a special interest in fashion and portraiture.  Since joining London Speedlite Scene I have developed my own style of contemporary fashion imagery and truly discovered the power of collaboration.

For me, photography is all consuming.  It combines art and science, the creative and the technical, expression and discipline.

My aim is to produce sensorial imagery, be it functional or decorative.  I hope to inspire others and enjoy where photography takes me.

I owe my achievements to date, to the people that surround me and by putting heart and soul into my work to be the best I can be.
